Maxim and Liam were on fire. Maxim expecially seemed to be jumping around more than he did last year in Brixton. At the end of the gig he said something like ‘I love you all, that comes straight from the heart’ then they put on Love is in the Air after they left stage, which made me laugh. Liam came down to the front of the stage at one point, I think that was during a song! The whole thing seemed a bit ‘Keith lite’. Didn’t notice him that much. One interesting thing was they played the original Firestarter and not the remix. Also, the didn’t do Out of Space last or even as an encore. Charly was the last tune. Couldn’t hear the guitarist, as usual but the he had more of a presence on stage than Jim, (I think it was him I saw in Brixton).
I’ts hard to pick a favourite. I did not expect We Are the Ruffest at all, so it was cool hearing that, even though it was only a fill. Diesel Power and Poison were very cool. Smack My Bitch Up was shaking my internal organs.
I’d also like to say the Audio Bullies were fantastic. They really had the crowd. My mate who’s been to fuck loads of gigs said he’d never seen a support band get the crowd going so much. They had some DJs on afterwards, but they weren’t that great.
