Review by peerless:
Fucking awesome (as expected) show, they indeed played for a long time, and I really liked the set list, nice mix between old and new tunes. I tried standing as close to the stage as possible, but halfways through WOF I was already pushed way back. Some of the crowd were completely mental, creating warrior circles where the created rings and jumped/smashed into each other.
WOF was a great opener, and way better live than on the album.
THEIR LAW rocks as always, though I wish Liam would bring back the version played live around 96/97.
BREATHE to me has lost most much of its punch, although its always a crowd pleaser, guess I’ve heard it too many times, but the dubstep at the end was sweet.
OMEN – Fuckin’ ‘ell!! I was just waiting for it from they stepped out on stage. Hearing it live was alone worth the entire show, it has so much power! I think I was starting to lose my voice around this point
POISON – Never get tired of this one, always good, live or studio version. But I was hoping Liam would play the Maida Vale version with the wicked flute mixed in.
WARRIOR’S DANCE – Another triumphant new tracks which works extremly well live, better so since its so bass heavy. Many people were taking the title of the track a wee bit too literal though
FIRESTARTER – Bit the same as Breathe for me, heard it so many times. But Liam keeps mixing it about, which justifies it being in the set.
RWTW – Was looking forward to hearing this one live, although it maybe doesn’t work quite as good live as WOF, Omen or WD, it was still a really crowd rocker, Keith was really up for it, screaming and looking totally twisted
VOODOO PEOPLE – As with Poison, this one always rocks
COMMANCHE – GOBSMACKED! STUNNING! A complete live masterpiece. I went ballistic when they started playing it, and kept jumping throughout the entire song. Only heard poor live recordings of it before, and didn’t really know what to make of it, but experiencing it had about the same effect as hearing Rhythm of Life for the first time, and it has a similar vibe to it. Made me wanna do a raindance with the indian feel and all. Can’t wait to hear it again (and again (and again))
INVADERS MUST DIE – Totally awesome first encore song. Hearing the new tunes live was absolutely great, I would say though that LH should crank up the synths on this one as they drowned in the bass.
SMBU – Knowing it was approaching the end, I was just going even more off the hook when it played. As was everybody else
TMTTH – FUCK YEAH! I was afraid I wouldn’t get to hear it live, but wouldn’t you know, right after SMBU faded out, I heard that distorted vocal of TAKE ME TO THE HOSPITAL. If they had played it again, some surely would have been forced to take ME to the hospital
It was so fucking awesome, total class, this should become a permanent addition to the set list from now to eternity
YOUR LOVE/OOS – What better way to end it than having the entire crowd singing along to OOS? Really cool that Your Love was mixed into the beginning.
So all in all, this was every bit as good as I hoped. I just got back from Oslo, with a sore throat, bruises and a blistering headache, and the worlds largest smile on my face. And I have promised myself to go to every Prodigy-show I can possibly get to. They were selling wicked merchandise too, bough meself an IMD Tee and a Beanie with Ant and The Prodigy, would have bought everything if I had the cash
